I disagree.
Nobody knows Oracle Projects.
It is complicated and convoluted.

Anyone who says these know Oracle Projects is deluded.

I have been working with it for 10 years as an Implementation Consultant.

The documentation says a lot of "Oracle Projects can do this", not much of "how Oracle Projects does it" or "the number of restrictions or caveates on functionality

Hi Project Gurus,
I have question here:
Oracle Projects has no direct integration to Oracle CRM Suite of Products (except Depot Repair), but indirectly to Field Service and that too for Debrief Material transactions. Is there any plans in the future Oracle comes up with tight integration between Oracle CRM and Projects?

Thanks,
Arun

Not sure where this Reddi dude gets his info from. I work at SEW and we got the integration done all the way. Oracle says this is the most comprehensive integration ever done in the world.

Read the case study at Oracle:

Hi, I am facing problem while revenue acceptance. The invoice is accepted but the revenue generated is released and is not able to change the status to accepted. Is there any oracle seeded request to make the Status of revenue generated in Accepted.

Hi Raj,

I know few construction companies like sew Infrastructure, ramky... that implemented Oracle Projects in India, however there is no integration with any of the other modules(they forget the basic purpose of ERP).

Is there any construction company effectively using Oracle Projects? Does Oracle Projects really help to handle the Business process of a construction company. I think even the big and renowned consultants also dont have an answer for this. Oracle Projects implementation is not their bread and butter. They only tend to confuse the client and get no where with it.

Hi Chris.
You are talking about project funding. Yes, you can set up multiple POs as either separate agreements, or incremental changes to the existing agreement.

Dear Marian,

Interesting article - I have a question regarding setting up the project. Is a project in Oracle capable of handling multiple client POs. I am try to setup specific tasks associated to these POs. Look forward to your response.

Dear Marian,

Thnaks about the material, but i have quistion please

using oracle project costing the assets details must be prepared and sent from project costing to fixed assets modules as new mass addition.

the quistion is what about the AP invoice which include the assets details, shall i add the inovice line to fixed assets using create mass addition request or what.and if yes then we will have a duplicate where two inovice line will be added to fixed assets from oracle project costing and payables???

can you please clarify this

Hi Marian,

We are implementing R12 Oracle projects costing & billing for a Contruction & Contracting Co.

Here we are in the process of building the custom interface between Oracle Projects & Estimation tool. But from the Estimation there around 10000 BOQ items. The client billing is done for this 10000 items.Anyway work Quantity measurements happens at these BoQ Item level for the client billing and the Service POs also are broken down to BoQ item levels.

Is there any workaround available to track the actuals at rolled up level( say @ 200 to 300 BOQ item) and bill @ 10000 item level.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
